Tezaveh – Beware of snakes

There is an article in the Zohar Tezaveh that talks about walking in the desert and snakes. The Zohar says that G-d directed us to the desert in order to give us the opportunity to fight the snake and control him. The first sin was with the snake and therefore at the beginning of everything we do he always waits for us. In Genesis 4:7 we read “…לַפֶּתַח חַטָּאת רֹבֵץ”, “sin couched at the door”.

Why does the Zohar connect the snake with Tezaveh?

There is an article in the Zohar Tezaveh that talks about walking in the desert and snakes. The Zohar says that G-d directed us to the desert in order to give us the opportunity to fight the snake and control him. The first sin was with the snake and therefore at the beginning of everything we do he always waits for us. In Genesis 4:7 we read “…לַפֶּתַח חַטָּאת רֹבֵץ”, “sin couched at the door”.

Why does the Zohar connect the snake with Tezaveh?

Tezaveh is the only parasha that Moshe’s name does not appear (from his birth till his death).

G-d instructed Moshe on what he needed to do to prepare Aharon and his sons for the priesthood.   He was the first Kohen, the original channel for the Light to the holy tabernacle. The Zohar teaches us that the Light gets to be revealed from the concealed. If you lit a candle on a sunny day, you wouldn’t be able to see its light but you could easily see its light in the dark. Moshe had to conceal himself in order to accomplish this important mission without disruption.

In Terumah he prepared the Tabernacle, which is the vessel. Now he prepares the priests to be the channel for the Light. Moshe did not want to risk involvement of the primordial snake in the process. He did his job with humility. If we read the parasha carefully we realize how much work was required from him to prepare Aharon and his sons for the holy job.

One of the tools to channel the Light was (Exodus 28:30) “וְנָתַתָּ אֶל-חֹשֶׁן הַמִּשְׁפָּט, אֶת-הָאוּרִים וְאֶת-הַתֻּמִּים” “the Urim and the Thummim” (in simple translation “Lights and perfections”). These special codes activated the breastplate,” חֹשֶׁן” and gave it the power to be like a “know it all” computer.

The first letter of “אוּרִים” is Alef, “א” and the first letter of “ַתֻּמִּים” is Tav, “ת” .  The אand ת represent the beginning and end of the Alef bet and the full revelation of the light in the world through the Hebrew letters.

The breastplate was called “חֹשֶׁן” and it has the same letters of “נחש”, snake, and has the numerical value of 358 (= mashiach). The “מ” of Mashiach is the middle letter of the Alef Bet and together with the Alef and Tav, it makes “אמת”, which is the seal of G-d. In the Torah, the word Mashiach appears only together with the Kohen, (Leviticus 4) “הַכֹּהֵן הַמָּשִׁיחַ”.

The power of the Kohen was to break the hold of “the Snake”, which represents all negativity, falsity and the illusion of this world.

Because of the first sin, we made the snake our partner for life. To avoid his negativity, we need to hide our actions form him, especially at the start of everything.

The Zohar tells us to “crush the snake’s head”. The verb that the Zohar uses is specifically “לכתת־את־ראשו” “to crush”. The root word “כתת” has numerical value of 820. It has a lot of meanings and the most significant one is that it is the same as “Love thy neighbor as thyself” and “אהבת־חנם unconditional love+ “שדי”, the holy name that gives us protection. This is the light that takes away the power of the snake and keeps us safe.

Love unconditionally.

Ki Tisa – Holy Smoke – Stop the anger!

The first three verses with 39 words and relates to the making of the holy anointing oil “שֶׁמֶן מִשְׁחַתקֹדֶשׁ”. The second set of three verses with 42 words relate to making of the incense “קְטֹרֶת”.

The two elements are made only for the priests while serving in the Holy Tabernacle. Anyone else who dares to connect to the oil or to the Incense cut himself from the Light.

Exodus 30:23,24,25

The first three verses with 39 words and relates to the making of the holy anointing oil “שֶׁמֶן מִשְׁחַתקֹדֶשׁ”. The second set of three verses with 42 words relate to making of the incense “קְטֹרֶת”.

The two elements are made only for the priests while serving in the Holy Tabernacle. Anyone else who dares to connect to the oil or to the Incense cut himself from the Light.

Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai, the author of the Zohar, describes this Torah part of the incense as the highest level in our daily prayers. We recite it twice in the morning and once in the afternoon.

In the burial place of Rabbi Shimon you can find a large frame on the wall with the incense prayer. Rabbi Shimon said that if people knew the power and significant of it, they would tie the words on their heads like a crown.

G-d gave the priests the tools to connect to his light on a higher level. The anointing oil, “שֶׁמֶן” has the numerical value of 390 (10 times the number of words in the three verses) and also the same value of Heavens, “שמים”. 39 is also the gematria of “טל” (=Dew) that comes from the sky down to earth. It is the expanded (Milui) value of the upper three letters of the name of G-d, “יהו”, (יוד־הא־ואו) and relates to the resurrection of the dead.

The incense, “קְטֹרֶת”, in the holy temple ascends to the supernal gates of heavens. The 42 words are the key connection to the seed of creation and to where the light emanates from.

The preparation of the incense is called “מַעֲשֵׂה רוֹקֵחַ”, translated to “act of the mixer of spices”. In Hebrew, the word “רוֹקֵחַ” is used for a pharmacist. This word has the numerical value of 314, like in the name of G-d “ש־ד־י”. The incense gave the priests protection when they served in the Holy.

G-d “blew” the soul into Adam through his nose, a fact that kept this channel pure and not involved in the sin of Adam. It is a channel to the light.

One of the visible miracles in the Holy temple was of the smoke that came out from the burning of the Incense. It was ascending to heavens in straight line. It didn’t matter if the weather was windy. The scent carried to a great distance (miles away).

The incense helped the priests to increase their soul capacity to draw the light in their work. It put them on a “high” state and they could easily ignore the body consciousness, especially in the service of Yom Kippurim.

The word for anger in Hebrew is called “חרון־אף”, incensed, burning of the nose. When we get angry, we burn the soul inside of us and let negativity in. Breathing is the process of drawing light. The word for air in Hebrew is אויר (אור + י), which made from the word for Light and the letter Yud that signifies the 10 sefirot.

With every breath we take in we connect to the light and sustain our lives. When in anger we do the opposite.

Take a deep breath and smell the light.

Shemot – The secret code of genesis repeats

Genesis is the story code for the thought of creation and setting up the forces that drive our universe. We saw that Abraham disconnected from his roots to connect to the light. Isaac feared G-d to build the desire to connect. Jacob completed the top three connections with his devotion to be with the light without falling to the negativity. The twelve sons created inner paths for the light and Joseph created the channel from the upper to lower.

וְאֵלֶּה, שְׁמוֹת בְּנֵי יִשְׂרָאֵל, הַבָּאִים, מִצְרָיְמָה: אֵת יַעֲקֹב, אִישׁ וּבֵיתוֹ בָּאוּ
Now these are the names of the sons of Israel, who came into Egypt with Jacob; every man came with his household

This week we start with "שְׁמוֹת ", Exodus, the second book of the five. This one is at the level of Chokmah, also described as "אבא ", "Father".
What does it mean?

Remember that G-d\’s creation is perfect beyond our ability to comprehend. All the pain we experience in this world is in the original plan. Our choice is how to accept it.

Joseph is related to Yesod, which is the sixth sefirah and we are missing Netzach (Moshe) and Hod (aharon). This is perfectly all right because they are both related to the vessel. They go together, like the two legs carrying the load of the whole body in balance.

Joseph (Yesod) made a direct continuation of the light from Jacob (Tiferet). Egypt benefited from their blessings (Genesis 47:7, 10). Now when Moshe and Aharon were ready to walk the way of the light, they came to Pharaoh to release the Israelites form the bondage of Egypt.
We learn in previous articles that the light is revealed when it is "pushed back", reflected. Egypt was a darkest place on those times.

Abraham went down to Egypt in order to reveal the light he received from G-d. Isaac did not go down to Egypt because his submission to the binding created the channel of drawing the light of Abraham (Chessed). Jacob did most of his work with Lavan but needed to come down to Egypt to connect to Joseph and create the necessary continuation of the light.

The Holy Ari, tells us that this is when Zeir Anpin was born. Pharaoh that controlled the whole world, had extreme spiritual powers and knew all the spiritual forces was honest when he said (Exodus 5:2) "וַיֹּאמֶר פַּרְעֹה–מִי יְהוָה אֲשֶׁר אֶשְׁמַע בְּקֹלוֹ, לְשַׁלַּח אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל: לֹא יָדַעְתִּי אֶת-יְהוָה, וְגַם אֶת-יִשְׂרָאֵל לֹא אֲשַׁלֵּחַ " "And Pharaoh said: \’Who is the LORD, that I should listen to his voice to let Israel go? I know not the LORD, and moreover I will not let Israel go".

After Jacob connected to Joseph, the light of the creator as "ה ו ה י " (Zeir Anpin) could appear in this world.
Once this connection was done, the Israelites, as the 12 tribes, the path of the lights, needed to move to the next step and connect to the land of Canaan (the Holy land) for the final process of establishing a kingdom (Malchut), which was completed by King David and the building of the Holy Temple in Jerusalem.

The Holy Land is the place where the light can manifest in its full potential for the whole world.

The Parasha starts with "וְאֵלֶּה ", which has numerical value of 42 and connects us to the 42 letters at the beginning of Genesis. Here it represents a new creation on a different level. Another point to notice is that this parasha starts the special six weeks (for the six days of creation) and they are called "שובבים ", for the beginning first letter of each parasha. The numerical value is 360 (!) and it relates to the light that G-d concealed at the time of creation for the future.

As we said earlier, the thought of creation got completed in Genesis and the process of putting the plan into action began. At the end of Genesis we read that Jacob gathered his sons to tell them the future and now G-d is telling Moshe exactly what is going to happen to Pharah and how they are going to leave Egypt. Read Exodus 3:17-3:22 then read Exodus 12:35, 36. If G-d knows the future, do we have free choice?

Soon we\’ll release "The Divine Calendar" book by Ezra (Jeff) Meiliken, which will show (scientifically, with Bible codes) how G-d planned an amazing plan for us form the day of creation to the day of redemption.

One interesting verse in Exodus 4:20 "וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה אֶת-אִשְׁתּוֹ וְאֶת-בָּנָיו, וַיַּרְכִּבֵם עַל-הַחֲמֹר, וַיָּשָׁב, אַרְצָה מִצְרָיִם; וַיִּקַּח מֹשֶׁה אֶת-מַטֵּה הָאֱלֹהִים, בְּיָדוֹ " "And Moses took his wife and his sons, and set them upon a donkey, and he returned to the land of Egypt; and Moses took the rod of God in his hand".
This verse describes the return of Moses to Egypt to start the process of redemption from bondage. It says that he mount them on a donkey (singular). It is also said that the Mashiach will come riding on a donkey.

Let us pray that we will merit seeing the coming of Mashiach, today, Amen.

The supernal accountant

In the second commandment we read,
Exodus 20:4 אָנֹכִי יְהוָה אֱלֹהֶיךָ, אֵל קַנָּא–פֹּקֵד עֲו‍ֹן אָבֹת עַל-בָּנִים עַל-שִׁלֵּשִׁים וְעַל-רִבֵּעִים, לְשֹׂנְאָי, \”I the LORD your God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation\”

Does God want to scare us? \”I am not forgetting your sins!\” \”Be good or you will suffer the consequences!\”. \”I wont forgive!\” \”I will punish your children, grand children and great grand children for your sins!\”.
Here what God gives us here is an important advice and teaching about the spiritual system.
The world was created with the element of time built in it. We have a process to follow in this world. Everything that we want to create takes time.  In our mind (spiritual part of us), we can build (or/and destroy!) cities in an instant but in the material world, from thought to action takes time.

Every action we do affects our soul in a positive or negative way.

In a perfect world you\’d like to get your reward (effect) as soon as you do the action (cause) BUT in this case you would also get the negative effect of a negative action.

To keep the world in a stable state, the Creator created a distance between the effect and the cause. This is the purpose of time. It gives us the ability to correct causes before it effects us negatively or in other words, before we get \”punished\”.

We know that God does not punish us, just like we can not blame gravity for pulling us down when we jump off the window.
The Second Commandment tells us that we are responsible for the continuity in the world. A father should know that his actions affect the life of his child. He himself carries the consequences for the actions of his father. The link is very important to understand genetics, reincarnation and why things happen in a person\’s life.

In the beautiful prophecy of the future (Jeremiah 20:28 בַּיָּמִים הָהֵם–לֹא-יֹאמְרוּ )
we read עוֹד, אָבוֹת אָכְלוּ בֹסֶר; וְשִׁנֵּי בָנִים, תִּקְהֶינָה
\”In those days they shall say no more: \’The fathers have eaten sour grapes, and the children\’s teeth are set on edge.\”

This means that all negativity will be removed from existence. The Ten Commandments will be just a good memory of the work we did to get to the final peace.
